Nebraska Electronics, Inc was founded in 1979 as a coil winding and assembly company in Omaha, Nebraska by Rita Bystrek. Over the first 10 years of business, the needs of our customers changed from coil winding to more of a focus on PCB assemblies.

In 1989, Nebraska Electronics, Inc started doing business as Electronic Design and Manufacturing. The engineering department was enlarged and equipment designed for PCB work was acquired. EDM also began offering re-engineering, design and development services.

In 2004, EDM celebrated its 25th anniversary by opening its brand new 50,000 square foot facility in La Vista, Nebraska. This new facility gave EDM capacity for future growth and a modernized manufacturing facility.

In 2008, EDM received our ISO 9001:2000 registration. Our registration was the culmination of a three year program to improve and standardize our company processes to better meet customer demand.

In 2010, EDM received our ISO 9001:2008 registration. Our updated registration demonstrates our commitment to continual process improvement to better meet our customer demands.

Electronic Design and Manufacturing is located in La Vista, Nebraska, a suburb of Omaha. We opened our new modern manufacturing facility in 2004, offering 50,000 square feet of ESD protected production space. Our production facility has ample room, allowing us to better meet our customers’ growing demands. Our entire facility is temperature and humidity controlled, giving us tighter control over processes. We offer a secure environment, with limited access and 24/7 security monitoring. Our building is strategically located near major highways for ease of access.
